Why was my Mercury bank application rejected?

Although we collaborate with Mercury, each application is reviewed and approved directly by them. The decision is entirely up to Mercury, and sometimes applications may be rejected without a detailed explanation.

Mercury does not disclose to us—or to applicants—the specific reason for a rejection. However, the most common causes are:

  • The nature of the business activity.

  • Missing documents or incomplete information requested during the application.

If your application to Mercury was rejected, don’t worry. We have compiled a list of other digital banks that offer similar tools and services where you can apply and potentially get approved. You can find that list in this article.

Please note: these alternatives are only recommendations. We do not have direct partnerships with those institutions, so each application process must be completed independently.

Can I reapply to Mercury if my first application was rejected?

Yes, you can reapply. While approval is not guaranteed, you are free to submit a new application. Keep in mind that Mercury requires a different email address for each submission. If you use the same email as before, their system will automatically block the new request.
